Confessions of a Shopaholic

Rate: 3 out of 5

Source from Yahoo! Movies

Rebecca Bloomwood is a sweet and charming New York City girl who has a tiny, little problem that is rapidly turning into a big problem: she's hopelessly addicted to shopping and drowning in a sea of debt. While Rebecca has dreams of working for a top fashion magazine, she can't quite get her foot in the door -- that is, until she snags a job as an advice columnist for a new financial magazine published by the same company. Overnight, her column becomes hugely popular, turning her into an overnight celebrity, but when her compulsive shopping and growing debt issues threaten to destroy her love life and derail her career, she struggles to keep it all from spiraling out of control--and is ultimately forced to reevaluate what's really important in life.

The movie had hilarious scenes, especially the dancing scene and the various scenes when the debt collector was hunting her down. Overall, the movie made the entire theater laugh and left my colleagues and I smiling.

Searching for his missing sister, Clay Miller heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing lying in wait under the brush. But they are all about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying specters in American film history -- the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.

Personally, i enjoyed the movie a lot
although i nvr watched previous Friday 13th...
I know this is the thirteen edition of Friday 13th...
I thought is just a crappy horror movie that will disappoint me as usual...
However, i'm surprised i turns out better than i expected...
or i shall say i nvr have any expectation on this movie.

Worth spending RM11 for this movie.
Thumbs up!!!!

The Shinjuku Incident

Rate: 3.5 out of 5

In the early 1990's, a tractor mechanic from China nicknamed Steelhead illegally enters Japan to search for his girlfriend. To make ends meet, he joins his friend in Shinjuku in doing menial labour. Steelhead finds out that his girlfriend has married Eguchi, a Japanese Yakuza leader. Steelhead decides to stay on in Japan and work for Eguchi as a hitman. Soon, Steelhead gets used to the power and finds himself embroiled so deeply in the ways of the underworld that there is no turning back.

Personally, i think this movie still acceptable to watch...really painful story, a band of common people leave their home country for money and become criminals. At first, they are pitiful, at the end they are wicked.

I dunno why I got a bad feedback from my colleagues asking me not to go watch...However, my mum wanted to watch this movie. Luckily, nvr wasted my 2 hrs... and RM20 movie tix for 2 pax.

Fast & Furious 4

Rate: 4 out of 5 (cause I still love cars)

From Yahoo! Movies

When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Conner. But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmanuever him. And from convoy heists to precision tunnel crawls across international lines, two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what's possible behind the wheel.

This was a okay movie to me! Full of action and kept my interest the whole time. However, I was disappointed that there weren't more cars and racing involved. Most of what I loved about the first two were the amazing cars, which weren't a huge part to this one.

They have a traditional family and one of the rules is that none of the siblings could get married before their eldest sister. In view of this, Kei sort help from the famous “Casanova”, Koo Chai (Louis Koo), who is the new journalist in Sandra’s firm to pretend to court his eldest sister and lure her into the mood of love.

With Sandra falling in love with Koo Chai, she decides to introduce him to her parents (Lee Heung Kam, Ha Chun Chou). However, Koo Chai fell in love with another girl, Mun during an assignment and this broke Sandra’s heart. To avoid the disappointment of her parents, Sandra asks Mr. Wong (Raymond Wong) a private investigator to pretend as her boyfriend.

With Sandra love life going nowhere and her career plunging low, will she get what she wants? Will Kei find his true love and marries her sister off? Who will Koo Chai choose? Will all’s well end’s well?

Personally, I don't like this movie. Most people rate this movie good cause is funny...However, is not my wanna watch movie...For me, this movie ridiculous and not realistic...Maybe, I like movie with realistic and relevant storyline...

::Look For A Star::

Sam (Andy Lau) is the most eligible bachelor in town - he's young, smart and rich. However, every success has its price. Sam has already divorced three times and finds himself crawling back to the game of love sooner than he has expected.

It is love at first sight when Sam chances upon Milan (Shu Qi) at a Macau casino. She is a part-time poker dealer and a full-time cabaret dancer, seemingly not the perfect match with Sam's life. While Milan is being groomed into a society woman by experts galore, Sam is starting to have cold feet. He takes his lawyer's advice and signs a prenuptial agreement without consulting Milan. This time, he is gravely mistaken, as this woman has a heart of gold and is looking for real love rather than fame and fortune.

This movie with a simple storyline...sort of touch ppl heart...esp, one thing I learned in this movie is 'don't care what people think about u... what matter the most is you urself love the person or not...why bother to think about what ppl think'...we can't control ppl's mouth...as long as we are okay with it...and we are happy with what we are now.

::The Spirit::

Rating 1 out of 5

The storyline was weak and the characters were cheesy. I really expected more. And the acting- I realize the type of movie it was, but the acting was ridiculous.

From Yahoo! Movies
Adapted from the Will Eisner's graphic novels, "The Spirit" tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus -- who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face -- has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this coldhearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront...all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.
